At night,
Everyone gossips in the garden except Feroz.
Feroz walks slowly toward them, his hands tucked into his pockets, an amused glint in his eyes. As soon as the group notices him, the conversation abruptly halts.
Kk's friends turn to look at her with mischief dancing in their eyes.
Kk poked her inner cheeks with her tongue and smiled like a woman caught red-handed but unbothered.
Feroz and Kk's friends burst out laughing at her expression.
Surya and his group looked around, completely clueless and slightly concerned.
Kk: "Why are you wearing this?"
Feroz: "Is there a dress code I missed? Or am I forbidden to wear this masterpiece?"
He settles into a chair with exaggerated grace.
Aamir: "What transpired? Spill the tea, sir, we’re all ears."
Max: "The man in traditional wear with a shawl—that’s Kk’s one and only weakness."
Surya: "I wasn’t aware of this detail in the marriage contract."
Feroz: "You’re just the husband, bro."
Surya: "And I’m proud to be just the husband."
Everyone bursts into laughter.
Feroz: "I bet you haven’t even seen her in traditional attire yet, have you?"
Surya: "I haven’t. I assumed she h@ted wearing it."
Jacob: "Well, she looks stunning in it."
Kk: "I wore it only once, and that too because I lost a bet to Feroz. Shagun helped me drape the saree."
Feroz: "You’ve got nothing to worry about now. Your husband is a quick learner—he’ll drape it for you next time."
Kk: "Excuse me, what?"
Martin: "Now I’m intrigued."
Surya slowly turned to Feroz, his eyes narrowing.
Feroz: "He used to love seeing his girlfriend in traditional attire. I mean, adored it."
Surya looks over at Kk. Kk lifts a single eyebrow with regal mischief.
Kk: "I’ve wanted to ask you something for a while now."
Priya: "Ask away. Feroz is ready for his interrogation."
Surya: "Had I known Feroz was Kat’s friend and would be crashing this reunion, I swear I would’ve hosted this thing on Mars instead of my home."
Aamir: "Oops. Too late, my guy."
Kk: "So, was he a playboy or not during his college days?"
Everyone breaks into laughter again.
Jim: "I’ll light a candle for you tonight, man."
Shaili: "The answer is… absolutely yes."
Surya groans and leans back like his soul just left his body.
Feroz: "He had six girlfriends. At the same time."
Rohan: "Wait, what? Even we didn’t know that!"
Surya: "I'm never hosting a reunion again. That’s final."
Kk: "Someone once told me I had the nicest husband."
Feroz: "Biggest lie I’ve ever heard."
Kk: "Six girlfriends? Wow. We’ll have a detailed chat later."
Surya: "Why do I feel like this gathering is a covert mission to de$troy my marriage?"
Zahir: "I’m a d!vorce lawyer, by the way. Here’s my card. If things escalate, just call me."
Kk: "Will do."
Surya: "No thanks. Take your card and walk away."
Everyone laughs.
Sinem: "So, what’s the plan for tomorrow?"
Feroz: "How about a traditional-themed party?"
Abhimanyu: "Brilliant idea."
Surya: "I’m in."
Jadav, Cassidy, and the kids return from a nighttime walk.
Kk: "Welcome back, Coward Person."
Everyone laughs.
Cassidy: "Yes, Princess."
Kk’s smile fades. She throws a quick glance at him. Her friends instantly go silent. She raises a brow—sh@rp and commanding.
Cassidy stiffens, realizing his mistake.
Cassidy: "I’m… really sorry for calling you that."
Kk clenched her teeth and stormed into the mansion without a word.
Allen: "Why did you call her that?"
Surya: "What just happened?"
Feroz: "Kero used to call her that."
Aaisha: "Wait, who’s Kero?"
Alex: "He was the one who invited everyone to a surprise party on the day he proposed to her. But most of you didn’t show up because you wanted your own party."
Sinem: "We thought it was just another party. Nothing special."
Nargis: "I really regret that now."
Abhimanyu: "Anyway, it’s too late. Time for bed."
Everyone heads to their rooms. Mass enters quietly. Kk is sitting on the floor, playing with Saumya, trying to distract herself.
After changing into his night clothes, he sits beside them on the bed.
Mass: "Come here, Saumya."
Saumya, delighted, crawls to him with a little giggle. He scoops her up and k!sses her forehead.
Kk: "Sometimes I get jealous. She clearly loves you more."
Mass chuckles softly.
Mass: "I feel the same when you ignore me. And Meera, Samar, Sahil, and Jadav always take your side. Even Cassidy’s secretly on your team. My own crew betr@yed me."
Kk laughs, the tension finally lifting.
He k!sses her forehead gently.
Mass: "Are you okay now?"
Kk: "Yeah… I’m okay."
Mass: "So… can I call you Princess?"
Kk smirks.
Kk: "You’ve already done it countless times. Call me whatever you want. You don’t need permission."
Mass smiles warmly.
Kk: "Now let’s talk about your exes in full detail."
Mass laughs.
Mass: "Nope. The past is gone. You’re my present. My only future."
Kk: "Hmm… fine. I’ll spare you for now."
Mass: "Thank you, my queen."
They both laugh, and little Saumya laughs with them, unaware but delighted by the joy in the room.
Next evening,
Everyone is getting dressed for the traditional-themed party.
Kk is struggling to learn how to drape a saree from a video. She tries again and again, only to fumble and grow more frustrated.
Mass walks in and sees the chaos: safety pins, pleats, fabric everywhere. He leans against the doorframe and starts laughing.
Kk: "Don’t you d@re laugh at me. I swear I’ll k!ll Feroz for suggesting this!"
Mass: "Why, though?"
Kk: "How can people wear this much cloth? It’s an impossible art form!"
Mass: "Relax. Let me help you."
Kk: "Fine. Try your best."
He gently tucks one end of the saree into her waist and begins the process with precision and ease. She watches him—curious, amused, and a little enchanted.
Mass: "Why are you staring at me like that?"
She places her hands on his shoulders, eyes glinting.
Kk: "Am I not allowed to admire my husband?"
Mass: "You can stare all you want. Take your time, my lady."
He pulls her slightly cl0ser as he works on the pleats, tucking them in.
Kk: "Wait, are you dressing me or undressing me?"
Mass laughs deeply.
Mass: "If you want, I can do the second one too."
Kk: "Not now, Mister."
He finishes dressing her with care and leads her to the mirror. He stands behind her, one hand on her w@ist.
Mass: "How do you look?"
Kk: "Like it was done by a professional."
Mass: "Want me to do your makeup and hair too?"
Kk gives him a suspicious look.
Kk: "Are you sure you're not secretly taking beauty classes?"
Mass: "I just know what I like."
Kk: "Fine. Go ahead."
He does her hair first, gently brushing and styling with surprising finesse. Then comes the makeup—simple, elegant.
Kk: "You're a fictional man, honestly."
Mass smirks.
Mass: "Thank you for that."
He finishes and steps back.
Mass: "All done. You look bre#thtaking, as always."
He k!sses her forehead.
Kk: "Now go get ready. I’ll wear the jewelry myself."
Mass: "Okay."
He returns after a few minutes, dressed in formal traditional wear.
Kk: "You look good."
Mass: "Just good?"
Kk: "You look handsome in formals."
Mass: "Well then, by that logic, you look even more beautiful with0ut clothes."
Kk rolls her eyes with mock annoyance.
Mass: "Let’s go."
They descend the stairs together. Everyone is gathered, and the evening is about to begin.
Kk: "Okay."
___
Kk was the center of everyone's gaze, radiating charm that silenced even the most talkative.
Nargis: You look gorgeous.
Shagun: I wish I could be a man.
Abhimanyu: What's going on?
Surya: Don't you dare to think about my wife.
Feroz: He exerted a lot of effort to persuade her.
Mass: Obviously.
Everyone laughed, the air filled with teasing energy and amused stares. But all the attention on Kk began to chip away at Mass’s calm. A tinge of jealousy stirred quietly in his chest.
Rohan: Please turn on the A.C. It's extremely hot here.
Everyone hooted and whistled at his dramatic comment.
Mass opened his mouth to speak, but Kk silently grabbed his hand, halting him with a f!rm gr!p laced with mischief. Then she walked over to Rohan and confidently placed her hand on his shoulder.
Kk: "DON'T FLIRT WITH ME. IF I FLIRT BACK, YOU WILL TURN 0N WITHIN SECONDS."
The entire group exploded into screams and laughter. Kk winked at Rohan, letting her laughter ripple through the air, then turned and sauntered to the garden.
Rohan placed a hand dramatically on his chest.
Alex: How are you feeling?
Rohan: It's like a mini heart attack.
Everyone burst out laughing again.
Mass: If you try to flirt with her again, your tongue will come 0ut of your mouth.
Allen: Don't blame him, it's not his fault.
The group migrated outside where the evening bloomed into music, chatter, food, and flowing drinks.
Mass poured two glasses of wine—one for himself and one for her. Kk took hers, sipped it slowly, her eyes fixed on him.
Kk: Someone does not look happy.
Mass: Who?
Kk: You.
Mass: I'm happy.
Kk: Anyone can tell you're faking it. Your face doesn’t lie.
Mass: So now I need to perform happiness for everyone?
Kk: You didn’t like what happened inside, right?
She sipped her wine teasingly, watching him.
Mass: Don't you d@re put your hands on another man.
Kk: Should I allow myself to put my leg instead?
Mass: KAT.
Mass: YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO PUT ANY PART OF YOUR BODY ON SOMEONE.
Kk: Really?
She was still mocking him, enjoying his possessiveness a little too much. Then, without warning, he gripped her wa!st and y@nked her cl0ser.
Mass: I'm not joking, Kat. EVERY PART OF YOURS BELONGS TO ME.
Kk rested her hands on his chest, amused and unbothered.
Kk: Calm down, Mr. Possessive.
Suddenly, Shaili's voice cut through.
Shaili: Surya, can you come here?
Kk narrowed her eyes.
Kk: Why did she call you?
Mass: I can't read other people's minds—except yours.
He smirked and walked over to Shaili. She handed him a file. He read it, stunned, then pulled her into a spontaneous hug.
Mass: Did you close this deal? I never thought you'd be the one to pull it off.
Priya: What happened?
Mass: She closed the deal I was working on for two months.
Everyone clapped and congratulated her, but Mass forgot—he was now a married man.
From the side, Kk watched them. Her hand clenched tightly around her wine glass as he hugged Shaili without hesitation.
Feroz noticed and walked over, standing silently beside her.
Feroz: Someone feels jealous.
Kk glared at him, her eyes sh@rp.
Kk: How can he hug her?
Feroz laughed softly, placing one hand casually on her waist.
Feroz: Just wait. He’ll be here in a few minutes.
Kk: Because you put your hand on my wa!st?
Feroz: Yes.
Surya glanced at them briefly, then turned back to his friends, ignoring the scene entirely.
Feroz: What the he||? He didn’t come?
Kk: Why are you asking me? Ask your best friend.
Feroz removed his hand, feeling awkward now.
Kk: Now it's my turn.
She placed both her hands on Feroz’s shoulders and leaned in cl0ser.
Feroz: What the fu¢k are you doing?
Kk: Put your hands on my wa!st.
Feroz: I will not. It looks really wrong.
Kk: Why are you afraid? I said put it.
Feroz: I know your husband is my best friend, but that doesn’t mean he won’t dig my grave right here.
Kk laughed, loud and playful.
Kk: Come on, man.
He hesitantly placed his hands on her waist. She leaned in, their closeness undeniable.
Kk: Why are you sweating?
Feroz: I don't know about others, but if you stayed here a few more minutes… I WILL DEFINITELY TURN 0N.
Kk burst into laughter.
Kk: Don’t worry, I don’t plan to stay here that long.
On the other side, Mass observed them. They were laughing, too close, too comfortable. His jaw clenched.
He began walking toward them.
Feroz spotted him.
Feroz: He’s coming.
Kk: See, I told you.
Feroz quickly pushed her aside, making her stand beside him instead.
Kk: Congrats, your girlfriend closed the deal.
Mass took a glass of wine and sipped it with calculated calm.
Mass: And you don’t like it.
Kk: I didn’t say that.
Mass: My love, your actions speak far louder than your words.
Mass and Feroz laughed lightly. Kk turned her face away, annoyed.
Feroz: She said, "How can he hug her?"
Kk narrowed her eyes at him, visibly irritated.
Mass: Oh really. So this little drama is because of that.
Kk: What drama?
Mass: Such an innocent wife, I have.
Both men chuckled while Kk rolled her eyes and walked away toward her sisters. She danced and drank with them, trying to shake off the heat in her chest.
Hours later, the party ended. Everyone drifted to their rooms.
Kk changed clothes. Mass hadn’t returned yet. When he did, he walked straight up to her and pulled her by the wa!st, his voice low and fiery.
Mass: I WON’T TOLERATE YOU T0UCHING ANOTHER MAN EXCEPT ME.
Kk chuckled darkly.
Kk: The rule applies both ways.
She placed one hand around his neck, the other resting on his shoulder, her voice sh@rp.
Kk: "Next time you let a woman throw her arms around you, know I'll find another man to throw mine around. You fu¢k a woman, and I promise I’m capable of handling more than one man in b£d—if I’m in the mood." So don't play with me.
Mass: If you d@re it, I swear, first I’ll k!ll him—and second, you won’t be able to stand up from the b£d.
Kk: OH, REALLY. TRY ME.
Mass: This is the first time someone has threatened me.
Kk: Make a habit, Mr. Mafia husband.
Mass: Fine, my cat.
Kk: Go change your clothes.
He changed his clothing.
Mass: My friends will go tomorrow.
Kk: Mine too. Aaisha and Nargis will also go.
Mass: I think Feroz will not go.
Kk: Yes, he has been here for a few months and wants to start his business here as well.
Mass: Okay.
After talking about random things, they fell asleep.
Next day, Kk and Surya went to meet everyone.
Kk’s friends gathered around her and hugged her.
Kk: I will miss you guys.
Surya met his friends as well.
Rohan: No matter what you say, Kk deserves a better husband.
Everyone laughed.
Everyone was leaving—except Feroz.
Kk: Where will you live?
Feroz: I bought a house that is close to your house.
Mass: I'm going to the office. I have some important work.
Kk: Okay.
Feroz took a sip of coffee.
Feroz: Don’t worry, I’ll be going tomorrow. Right now, some furniture is being arranged at my house.
Mass: You can stay here as long as you want, if you don’t think about my wife.
Feroz and Kk chuckled.
Feroz: That is not possible.
Mass: Okay, bye, I have a meeting.
Mass left for the office.
Kk and Feroz discussed their business collaboration.
After some time,
Kk: I'm feeling exhausted. Let's talk later in the evening. And I think Saumya is also awake, so I have to check.
Feroz: Okay. We discuss at night.
Kk entered Saumya's room.
Kk: My baby. You are already awake.
Kk carried her and went to the bathroom. After bathing and dressing her, they both played.
Feroz knocked on the door.
Kk: Please enter.
Feroz: I want to play with Saumya too.
Kk: Okay.
Kk handed over Saumya to Feroz.
Kk: I will go and make coffee.
After some time, she came back with coffee and placed it on the table.
Kk took a sip.
Kk: She loves her dad more than me.
Feroz laughed.
Feroz: This is the first time someone has not chosen Kk.
Kk: Ya, you can say that.
Feroz: You still haven’t answered my question.
Kk: Which question?
Feroz: Why did you marry Surya?
Kk: I told you that I didn’t want to have my child @borted.
Mass was about to enter the room but stopped, frozen at the door after hearing that.
Feroz: Kk never chooses someone above her self-respect. I would appreciate a genuine reason.
Silence spread across the room. After a pause, she finally spoke...
Kk: When I discovered I was pregnant with Kero’s child, I felt like the universe had finally gifted me a reason to live again. I was thrilled, already planning how I’d tell him, how we’d build a future together. But fate had other plans. That very day, Kero... he p@ssed away. Everything around me crumbled. The tr@uma, the grief, the unbearable silence—it all suff0cated me. I l0st the baby soon after.
The doctors told me my body had been through too much. They said that conceiving again would be extremely complicated, maybe even imp0ssible. I felt ¢ursed. Like motherhood was just another dream stolen from me.
Years later, when I became pregnant with Saumya, the doctors warned me again. They advised me to term!nate the pregnancy... said my life was at r!sk. But I had no desire to l!ve anyway—not w!thout Kero. Still, I couldn’t bring myself to end that life gr0wing inside me. I believed this child was meant to be born. My destiny. Even if it c0st me my life... at least I’d go knowing I brought something good into the world.
I thought—if I d!e during childbirth, it would be the perfect pun!shment for Mass. I was b!tter, @ngry... l0st.
I knew he had returned to college for me. I knew things about him—his family background, his business empire, his age—but I never imagined that he was part of the mafia... or that he had adopted children.
As someone who grew up adopted myself, the thought of passing my child to someone else after me was h0rrifying. I couldn’t do that. I wouldn’t.
But everything changed after we got married. After I met Meera, Samar, and Sahil... After I saw the way he looked after them, the way they adored him. I began to believe—maybe, just maybe—he could take care of our child too, even if I didn’t surv!ve.
And with each passing day, I bonded with the kids. They became my world. I didn’t want to d!e anymore. I wanted to live. For them. With them.
God, in His mercy, granted me a normal delivery. Saumya came into this world healthy and safe. And I... I surv!ved.
Feroz: You’ve carried so much pa!n inside you... yet you never thought of sh@ring it with me?
Mass had been standing outside, unnoticed, hearing every word. His face was pale with gu!lt, his eyes wet.
Feroz: Did Surya know anything about this?
Kk: No. No one knew. I buried it all inside me.
Feroz: Are you planning to tell him?
Kk: I... I don’t know. What if he blames me? What if it changes things?
Suddenly, Mass walks in. Without saying a word, he strides across the room and pulls Kk into a fierce embrace, his arms wr@pped t!ghtly around her as if trying to hold her broken pieces together.
Mass: I’m sorry. I heard everything. You don’t have to carry this bu®den alone anymore. You are my wife—and that means I stand by you, no matter what. Right or wrong, your pa!n is mine too. And nothing, nothing will ever change the way I feel about you.
He gently pulls back, places a soft k!ss on her forehead. Te@rs pour down her face as he wipes them with trembling fingers.
Mass: How could you ever think I’d let you go? That I could live without you?
Kk: Ch0king on her tears I’m sorry...
Mass: Shhh. It’s okay now. Try to let go of the past.
Feroz: The past only brings s@dness... sometimes it’s better to let it go.
Mass: You’re the one always digging into the past.
Kk: Exactly. You always ask questions, Feroz.
Feroz: Shrugging innocently I’m just curious, okay?
Mass: Then ask now. Get all your curiosities out while we’re in the mood.
Feroz: Nope. I’m good now.
They all burst out laughing, the tension finally melting.
---
The Next Morning
Feroz is all set to head home. Bags packed, he stands by the door.
Mass walks over and pulls him into a brotherly hug, patting his back. Kk quickly grabs her phone and clicks a photo.
Feroz: Did you just take a picture?
Kk: Yep!
Feroz: Don’t you d@re post it.
Kk: Why not?
Mass: We don’t want the world to know that we’re united again. We’ve still got unfinished business... mafia business.
Kk: Grinning Okay, boss.
They all laugh together.
Meera: We’ll come visit your place sometime. You can’t escape us.
Feroz: You’re all welcome, anytime.
Kk: Wait! I want a picture with you too.
Mass: Come on, let’s make it happen.
Sahil: Hand me the phone, I’ll take it.
Kk stands proudly between Mass and Feroz.
Kk: Trapped between mafia legends. Someone save me.
Everyone bursts into laughter.
--
Feroz bids them farewell and leaves. Kk watches him go, then turns to the rest.
Kk: Family photo time?
Samar: Yes! Great idea.
Kk picks up Saumya in her arms.
Mass: Jadav, stop lurking over there! Come join us.
Jadav: Then who’ll take the picture?
Cassidy: Give it to me! I’ll take it.
Kk: Hey coward, come here. Give the phone to someone else, and join the family.
Cassidy hands the phone to a bodyguard and runs over.
Kk: Everyone say, "Cheeeese!"
The photo clicks. Flash. Memories frozen.
Samar: Our very first family photo.
Kk: Only because your dad prefers taking pictures with his ex-wife and buddies.
Mass: That’s not true!
Meera: It’s very true.
Kk: Look at the evidence.
Sahil: We always wondered why he never posted photos with us.
Mass: Because...
Jadav & Cassidy: He doesn't like sharing his private life.
More laughter.
Mass: Wow. I feel like an outsider in my own house now.
Kk: It’s my house now. Majority rules.
Mass: Is that so?
Children: Yes!
Jadav: You follow our rules now, old man.
Mass: Alright, tell me the rules.
Cassidy: Club night—once a month.
Mass: Absolutely not.
Kk: We’re not asking. We’re informing you.
Sahil: And we’ll take Mom wherever we want. No interference.
Mass chuckles, shaking his head.
Mass: This is too much.
Meera: It’s not even close.
Mass: Okay, should I tell your mom you have a boyfriend?
The room goes silent. All eyes turn to Meera.
Kk: Meera?! Is that true?
Meera: Mom... I... uhh...
Mass: Wow, you don’t trust me enough to tell me?
Kk: I’m just shocked.
Samar: Meera! Why didn’t you tell us?
Mass: Don’t act innocent. I know both of you have girlfriends too.
He smirks at Samar and Sahil.
Kk: Excuse me?! You’ve been hiding this from me?
Meera: I’m sorry, Mom.
Samar: We only met two weeks ago...
Mass: Liar. Two months.
Everyone turns to look at Samar again.
Kk: It’s been two months, hasn’t it?
Kk: Samar?!
Samar: Groaning Dad...
Mass: What?
Kk: Samar, Sahil, Meera—I am not talking to any of you.
Meera: Dad, why would you do this?
Mass: I didn’t do anything!
Jadav: You betrayed the team.
Mass: Just a minute ago, you all were one team. Now I’m the villain?
Kk: Now I get it... I’m really married to a mafia don.
Mass: Laughing Welcome to the reality, love.
Samar: Dad, that was a very low blow.
Mass: Lesson learned: never mess with your father. I know how to manage people—especially my own children. So don’t try to outsmart me, understand?
Everyone together (Kk, Children, Cassidy, Jadav): Yes, boss!
The house fills with laughter again, sealing the moment with warmth and joy.
Unanswered questions linger in the air…
Where is Amy?
Who hides behind the mask as the true villain?
